आशा कुमारी सिंह ।।
Life is short and what can you achieve in this short life. Can you be a example to some one can you be a idol for you country or can you do something different so that you will be remembered. Not all the people can do this in there really a short life but there is also a people who have amazed a world and proved that there is nothing impossible in your life.
Young girlAshaKumari Singh represent Danuwar community from Meghrail,Mahottari of Nepal who have never seen a mountain when she was kid surprises the world in 24 May 2008 and become a first person to climb Mt. Everest from her community and lowland (Terai) of Nepal. Girls were supported to get marriage in the young age and not aware of there right in her community but she always had that in her mind that she will live her life differently. Asha was told she was very ugly among her six sister so she might not get a good husband in the future and her grandmother send her to school to be independent so she can live on her own. Until when she was in school she never thought about climbing mountain and she had no idea how it was done and what it is but when she finishes her school and came to Kathmandu to study for her higher education she got to know about this women team expedition. She got to know few people and followed them and learns about the climbing. She spends lots of time on climbing gym and with exports learning about climbing and mountain. Asha love being in the mountain and love climbing that is also why she was really good athlete. She has won Nation climbing competition and participates and represents Nepal Internationally. She also won a National championship in 2012.
She was awarded by different NGO, INGO and from different organization after her great success Mt. Everest. But there is always a question for her “what next”.
Finally she came with an idea of climbing of all the highest mountain of seven continents, which is seven summits. With a help of Nepal government and other lots of supporter she started her mission and She climbed Mt Kosciuszko/Targangil highest mountain of Australia on 7th July 2010, Mt Elbrus, the tallest mountain in the European continent on August 29th 2010 at 12:30 pm, Mt Kilimanjaro highest mountain of South Africa on 5th March 2013 at 7:45 am, Mt Aconcagua highest mountain of South America on 23rd February 2014 at 6:15 pm, Mt Denali, the highest mountain in the North American continent on 24 June 2014 at 1:45 pm local time.
By 2014 she did 6 of the 7 summit and she was quite a busy visiting a school and give a talk to the young kids and motivate them.
After her 6 climb Nepal Government awarded her with a “Prabal Jana Sewa Shree” and Everest Diamond Jubilee and Everest Golden Jubilee which is one of the most important award given to the person who have served country and made country proud.
Now it is a time for her to make her final climb to Mt Vinson Massif in Antarctica. Asha have planed to summit the Mt. Vinson in 2018 and complete her seven summits. Antarctica is the southern most continent of planet Earth. It is a continental mass mostly of ice and snow; only continent that doesn’t have local population. Antarctica, being home to massive body of ice and snow, holds much significance particularly in context of climate change. All longitudes meet at the South Pole within this continent, which is surrounded by the Southern ocean. Singh have planed to summit the Mt. Vinson in 2018 and complete her seven summits. Mt Vinson Massif, the highest point on the continent is a mountain posing risk of extreme weather and possibly one of the coldest regions on the planet. Climbers need to be equipped and prepared better than most other climbing in order to
face the challenges of the extreme weather conditions in Antarctica. Owing to the cosmic make up, Antarctica receives 24-hour sunlight during the summer. Late November to early February is the only time in the year suitable for climb.
